The Family Campground remains closed for renovation until further notice.
Umstead State Park's Family Campground remains closed for a major renovation project throughout 2024. The renovated campground will have a new bathhouse and significant improvements to the campsites. We plan to reopen in summer 2025.
At least one adult 18 or older, must accompany each camper/group.
Fireworks are prohibited. Firearms are prohibited except for with the proper license.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Posted quiet hours are enforced. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited.
Two tents allowed per site.
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.

The bathhouse is not heated but does have hot/cold showers.
The park gates are closed and locked promptly at posted closing time. No entry or exit is permitted after this time except for law enforcement or medical emergencies.
