Around 17% of the property could be described as open mountain meadows and riparian areas along the creeks including Willows and Cottonwoods. The remainder of the property is a mixture of mountain shrublands and timber. The timber is a mixture of Ponderosa Pine, Blue Spruce, Pinon Pine, and Aspen. The property was burned in the 2016 Junkins Fire.

Attention Big Game and Turkey hunters: Hunting property access is on horseback or foot ONLY. Vehicles are permitted no further than the designated parking area. To access the property and camping area, please use the code provided in your hunting confirmation letter. Camping is allowed by licensed hunters during an established big game or turkey season plus three (3) days before and three (3) days after each season. Camping is prohibited within one hundred (100) feet of any stream. RV camping is not permitted at any time; dispersed camping is tent-only, primitive, and restricted to the designated camping area. There are no designated 'sites' within disbursed camping area. Please be aware that there is no water, electricity, or cellular service available on the property or camping area while planning your hunt. All waste must be packed out with you and disposed of off-site.
Attention Hunters: You must print your confirmation letter prior to arrival and write your reservation number on the SECOND page of the letter. This must be placed on your vehicle's dashboard and serves as your parking permit for the duration of your hunt.

By making a reservation with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, you are agreeing to read and abide by all rules stated in this purchase flow and on the confirmation letter.

a. Public access is prohibited from December 1 through April 30, except for properly licensed hunters and one non-hunting companion.
b. Parking and access is allowed from designated parking areas only.
c. Hunting access is allowed by reservation only.
d. All hunters must comply with the Hunter Reservation System and reservations must be made through the Hunter Reservation System in accordance with #901.A of these regulations.
e. Discharge of firearms or bows is prohibited, except while hunting.
f. Camping is allowed by licensed hunters during an established big game or turkey season plus three (3) days before and three (3) days after each season. Camping is prohibited within one hundred (100) feet of any stream.
g. Dog training and field trials are prohibited.
Day Passes - Important Information
Access gate code will be provided in your confirmation email when a reservation is successfully created. Vehicles are not permitted at any point past the designated parking area. Beyond the parking area, property access is permitted by foot or horseback ONLY.
