There is a kerosene stove as the primary heat source with a very small emergency wood stove backup. Users need to provide their own kerosene . The storage tank for the stove is on the rear of the cabin. Kerosene is recommended and oil consumption averages 1 gallon per 24 hours (2 gallons per night in the winter). Summer and winter access: 23 miles south of Juneau by float plane or boat. Commercial air and boat taxi services are available in the Juneau area. There is a tramway from Oliver Inlet to access the Seymour cabin.
