As of 10/21/2022 PennDOT will be closing Petroleum Center bridge by the park office due to severe structural damage. The bridge will be closed to all vehicle, bicycle, and foot traffic. This closure is expected to be in effect for the foreseeable future. For anyone traveling from the south to reach the Park Office, McCrea Farm/ski trails, Egbert pavilion and the southern delayed harvest area, you will need to follow detour signs in Rouseville directing you onto Rt. 227. If traveling from the north, you will need to follow detour signs directing you to Rt. 227 into the town of Plummer. Park directional signs are located along 227 in the town of Plummer. Anyone thru hiking will need to plan accordingly since you will not be able to cross Petroleum Center bridge. If you have any questions, please call the park office: 814-676-5915

Firewood Alert: Bringing firewood into Pennsylvania is prohibited and could result in a citation. To help protect the forest from invasive insects that can kill trees and devastate the ecosystem, please do not transport firewood over long distances. Firewood can harbor insects such as emerald ash borer. The use of local firewood is strongly recommended. All firewood must be burned prior to your departure.

The spotted lanternfly has invaded our area. This invasive insect could cause serious harm to Pennsylvania's resources, businesses, and economy. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Help us stop the spread of these unwelcome hitchhikers. Inspect your vehicle, camper, tent, gear, etc. before you leave the park and destroy any lanternflies you find. For more information, visit the Penn State Extension's Spotted Lanternfly website at https://extension.psu.edu/.
This is an organized group tenting site. If you are looking for a family campsite, please select a different site type.

Pennsylvania State Parks defines an organized group as:

  • An organized group has a formal organization to coordinate and carry out its activities, appointed or elected leadership and holds periodic meetings.
  • An organized youth group has a majority of its members under age 18 and is affiliated with an on-going organization like school, youth and church groups.
  • An organized adult group has a majority of its members above 18 years of age and is affiliated with an organization such as the Rotary Club or the Lions Club.

If your group does not fit one of these categories, please select a different site type. Parks may require proof of your group's status upon check in. Non-organized groups that do not meet the criteria above are not permitted on this site.

If you are not an organized group, and book the site, you may be asked to leave the park or switched to the correct site type, if available, and charged the correct amount, which may be higher.

If you have questions regarding your group’s status, please contact the park for clarification.

Following completion of this transaction, please update your account information (located under My Reservations and Account) to include your organized group name in the “Name of Organization” block (i.e. Girl Scout Troop #12345).
