This park accepts requests for a Special Activity Permit Alcohol Supplement that, if approved as part of a Special Activity Permit, would allow alcohol to be served at this location as part of your event. To request permission for an event at this facility, fill out the forms at https://www.ncparks.gov/hours-fees-and-permits and contact the park directly. Intoxication is a state park is prohibited.
The bathhouse for shelters B and C is closed from mid November until mid March.
Gates lock at specific hours posted upon entering the park throughout the year. GATE KEYS AND COMBINATIONS WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings, boats, and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Special activity permit shall be required for special events like weddings, bike events, festivals, etc. Please contact the park office for further information.
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.
Check-out time varies by season and is as follows:
November - February: 5:30 PM
March, April, May, September and October: 7:30 PM
June - August: 8:30 PM

Check in anytime after gate opens at 8 am. Check out time is 1/2 hour before gate closing.
