Save the Day Passes
Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:
- Valid until 10 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
- Available up to 1 month in advance.
- Not transferrable to another person or park.
- Also sold at the park, if available.
Driving Directions
From Midland:
Take I 20 West to exit 86. Take Park Road 41 North to the Park.
From El Paso: Take I 20 East through Monahans for 6 miles to exit 86 Take park road 41 North to the Park.
From San Antonio: Take I 10 West to Fort Stockton. Take Hwy 18 North to Monahans. Take I 20 East for 6 miles to EXIT 86. Take Park Road 41 North to the park.

Alerts and Important Information
Ground fires are not allowed at Monahans Sandhills State Park.
No Off-Road traffic. Stay on established roads to avoid getting stuck.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.
DAY USE FEE:
$4 per day, per person 13 and older.
OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Office is open daily.
Rent sand disks and slide and tumble down the dunes - for kids of all ages! Rent at headquarters from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Discs available for sale after hours; contact the park for details.
Gate locks at 10pm nightly. No afterhours access is available.
HORSES:
All horses entering the Park must have a negative Coggins test less than 1 year old.
Quiet hours to be observed starting at 10pm

If arriving after office hours, there are two After Hours Self-Pay stations. One is located directly across the entrance road from the headquarters/entrance building. The other Pay Station is located next to the rest rooms 1.4 miles into the park area.
Envelopes/Entrance Fee information are located on the east side of After Hours Pay Station. Customers should fill out the envelope completely, tape the top copy on the vehicle drivers side windshield and insert the envelope with the money into the Fee slot.
All over-night campers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the following morning.
