Save the Day Passes
Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:
  • Valid until 10 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
  • Available up to 1 month in advance.
  • Not transferrable to another person or park.
  • Also sold at the park, if available.

Driving Directions
From Houston, take Highway 290 West to Brenham. Take SH 36 North through Somerville to Lyons. Turn left on Highway 60. Travel approximately eight miles. Turn left on Park Road 57. Park is four miles down Park Road 57.

From Austin (north), take Highway 290 East to Highway 21. Left on 21 approximately 30 miles. Right on FM 60, 11 miles to Park Rd. 57. (Please note – Bridge located on FM 60, just before Deanville, has a max clearance of 12’ 10”). 4 miles on Park Road 57 to Park entrance.

From Austin (south), take Highway 71 East to Bastrop. Highway 21 East approximately 45 miles. Right on FM 60, 11 miles to Park Road. 57 (Please note – Bridge located on FM 60, just before Deanville, has a max clearance of 12’ 10”). 4 miles on Park Road 57 to park entrance.

Alerts and Important Information
The Trailway from the Birch Creek Unit is open to the Newman’s Bottom Bridge providing approximately seven miles of one-way access. Equestrian use is permitted on The Trailway only. Equestrian users must check-in at the park HQs upon arrival to provide a current, negative Coggins test for each horse. Fish cleaning facilities are not available; please remove fish remains from the park.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE:
$5 per day, per person 13 and over.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Park does not have a gate.

No vehicles allowed on the trails in the primitive area.

Notes
There is no gate; no gate code is necessary for entry. Please contact the park prior to 5pm on your arrival date for late arrival an self-pay instructions. All late arrivals must register at the Park Headquarters between 8:30am and 9am the next morning.
