This site is not reservable online. Guests who want to reserve the Historic CCC Castle must call the park at 361-547-2635 prior to making the reservation and speak with the Superintendent. Once you have spoken with the park, please call 512-389-8920 to reserve.
The Pavilion is a historic structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1934-35. It was originally known as The Refectory. Some know the building as the Pavilion, but it is now designated as The Historic CCC Castle. This is a Day Use only site. Parking is very limited.
This site does not have electric outlets or restrooms. Restrooms are located about 150 yards away at the Bird's Nest Restroom. Tables and chairs are not provided, however you can bring your own.
General rules for use:
* By State Park rules, there is no open alcohol consumption at any State Park.
* No throwing of rice or birdseed. No confetti, piñatas, water balloons or similar types of litter. No nailing, taping, or gluing decorations to the building. Freestanding decorations are allowed. No canopy or stakes can be driven into the ground. No loud music is permitted.
A damage/cleaning deposit of $150.00 will be collected by credit card at check in; refunded at check out after the site has been inspected.
