Alerts and Important Information
Prescribed burns are planned during the timeframe of December-April, depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park or visit the Park Facebook Page to learn how this may affect your stay.

August 13, 2023 - Burn ban in effect until further notice. No wood fires are allowed. Charcoal and containerized fuel stoves (e.g. propane) are allowed for cooking. Check with the park for updates or more information.

For Solar Eclipses expected on 04/08/2024, be sure to purchase your day use passes online in advance - park capacity limit is 50 per day. Passes can be purchased up to 30 days in advance, to secure your spot.

All trash must be carried out of the park.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE:
$3 per day, per person 13 and older.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
The park and gate will be Open Only 8am Friday to 4:30pm Monday; Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight Camping not available on Monday nights. All Visitor Services and recreational opportunities will be available during the park operational hours. Register at Park Headquarter Office by 9am, check out time is 2pm.

The Office is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday through Monday.

Generators may not be used between the hours of 10pm and 6am.

Unauthorized entry into the caves at the park is prohibited. Special tours and events can be arranged for educational groups, scouts, youth groups, and other groups. Make your reservations online for the 1:00pm tour on Saturday.

Birding opportunities abound from mid-March through mid-June.

Evening viewing of bats exiting Stuart Bat Cave can be observed at sunset with paid entrance on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from about April thru October. For a fascinating point of view, come early on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at daybreak and watch the bats return.

Gate to Kickapoo Cavern State Park is open from 8am Fridays until 4:30pm on Mondays. The gate does not close while the park is open. After hours campers can either pay online via the Wi-Fi near the Park Office, the self-pay station or in the office by 9am the next morning.
