Save the Day Passes
March 13, 2025 - A water maintenance project will take place in different areas of the park April 1st and 2nd. Water will not be available at sites-be prepared to bring your own water for this time. All restrooms except Restroom 8 will be closed during this time. Porta-potties will be available at Restrooms 1-3. Contact the park for questions.

Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:
  • Valid until 10 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
  • Available up to 1 month in advance.
  • Not transferrable to another person or park.
  • Also sold at the park, if available.

Driving Directions
From Austin:
Take HWY 71 West to HWY 290. Hwy 290 to Hwy 281. Hwy 281 to P Park Rd 4. Turn left on Park Rd 4 for 12 miles. Or Hwy 183 to Hwy 29. Hwy 29 to Burnet. From Burnet take Hwy 29 West for 9 miles. Turn left on Park Road 4, go 3 miles to Park Headquarters.

From San Antonio:
Take Hwy 281 North to Park Rd. 4. Turn Left on park road 4 for 12 miles until you reach the park. Trailer recommended to take 29 west for 9 miles from Burnet to Park Rd. South 3 miles to Park Headquarters. STOPPING ALONG PARK ROAD 4 IS PROHIBITED DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

Reservations are strongly recommended, as Inks Lake State Park regularly sells out of both camping and day use.

DAY USE FEE:
$7 per day, per person 13 and older.
Daily Visitation fees are in addition to Campsite or Day Use facility fees.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Office Hours:
8:30 am-5 pm daily, except for extended hours during the peak season.

Front gate open from 6 am-10 pm daily.

Park Store Hours:
Open daily at 8:30am.
Closing hours may vary.
Please call the Park Store at 512-793-2033 to inquire about current hours.

Boat Rentals:
Rent paddle boats, canoes, one- or two-person kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUP), life vests and paddles at the park store.
All boat rentals are $20 for the first hour and $10 for each additional hour.
Weather permitting, rentals are available daily from 8:30am to 3:00p, with all boats due back by 4pm.

Due to limited parking in the park, visitors are encouraged to carpool whenever possible.

The primitive sites are a mile and a half hike in, there is no water access, and no fires/pets are allowed.

Front gate open from 6 am-10 pm daily. If entering park while the gate is closed, please refer to your reservation confirmation email for current gate code.

If you have a camping reservation and are arriving after the office is closed, proceed to your reserved campsite for the night. All late arrivals must come up to headquarters the following morning between 8:30-9:30 am to check in.

FOR CABIN:
If office is closed: Your cabin key will be left inside the cabin for you. All late arrivals must come up to headquarters the following morning between 8:30-9:30 am to check in and pay the cabin deposit. When departing return your cabin key to the cabin key drop box located on the side of the self-pay kiosk in the headquarters parking lot.

FOR GROUP CAMP:
If the office is closed: Site information will be available at the Self-Pay Kiosk adjacent to the Headquarters. All late arrivals must come up to headquarters the following morning between 8:30-9:30 am to check in.
