Alcohol is prohibited on group campsites.
Firearms and other weapons are prohibited except that those with a proper permit may possess a concealed handgun in permitted areas and under the requirements of North Carolina G.S. 14-415.11. All firearms and weapons are prohibited in state park visitor centers and park offices.
All campers must pre-register at park office or at self-registration box at pinnacle trailhead at visitor center. All vehicles must be parked at the visitor center. All campers must provide park with a tag and description of their vehicle(s) prior to going to the campground.
Firewood provided at campground and purchased at the Visitor Center at time of check in. Firewood is sold in a locker system. The cost is $10.00 per bundle (not per locker) and this is PLUS TAX that must be paid at the office during office hours or via self registration envelope after office hours. All fires must be attended at all times.
The park gate is closed and locked at the posted gate closing time. No one will be allowed in or out of the gate except in cases of emergencies. Anyone entering the park after the gate is closed is subject to citation. This is a moderate one mile hike in to the camping area.
Lights required for those hiking to campground after dark; difficult hike to the campground in the dark! For safety reasons, no campers are allowed to hike park trails after gate closing hours, except to get equipment from their vehicle to the campground.
For after-hours emergencies, campers will be provided an emergency pager phone number; no entry to park or exit from the park after gates are closed or prior to gate opening, except under emergency circumstances.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM
Posted quiet hours are enforced. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited.
Unlicensed vehicles, unregistered motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes. Campsite is a one mile hike from the parking lot. The only parking available for the campsite is at the Visitor Center Area. No overnight parking is allowed at the Linwood Access Area, Boulders Access Area, or outsite the park gates.
