Reservations for the meeting hall and shelter are made at the Deschutes Recreations office by phone, 541-739-2322 x0, or in person at 89600 Biggs Rufus Highway.
Reservations can only be made 6 months in advance to the requested date. Only available April 1st through October 15th.
There is no heating or cooling system in the building. There are fans and passive solar.
The Cottonwood Canyon Experience Center is located halfway between park entrance and the Lone Tree campground.
Check-in is at 8am, check-out is at 10pm, overnight occupancy is not permitted.
No overnight use is permitted.
Occupancy Limit: 70 people max and over 50 people requires a Special Use Permit
No smoking or pets allowed inside the building .
Supplies are provided to sweep floors, clean sinks, counters and tables. Users leaving the building in an unclean condition are subject to additional charges. Park staff will inspect the building after checkout. Trash should be bagged for parks staff to haul away.
No modifications to the building or grounds are permitted. No signs, banners, or decorations may be posted inside or outside the building without approval or park staff. Staples, nails, and tacks are not permitted in the structure.
Use of speakers or other audio equipment for amplified sound requires a special use permit .
ADA accessible flush toilets/shower facility is available near the building.
Parking for building is a short walk away, no drive-in parking, goods may be dropped off and picked up at the building.
Building is ADA accessible.
Building will be left unlocked on your day of arrival. Check-in with staff between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
Amenities:
Outdoor cooking area for BBQ grills and sink (sink shut off in winter). There is no water in the building between October 15th to April 1st.
ADA accessible building with shaded outdoor patio area.
Outdoor propane fire ring available during legal burning season.
Indoor wood fireplace, counter top with sink (turned off in winter), projector screen, 10 tables, 50 chairs, electric outlets and indoors fans.
Firewood is available at the park for sale during legal burning season.
Cancellation and Change Policy for Special Facilities:
Cancellations made one month to the day prior to arrival will receive a refund of all fees. For cancellations made less than one month to the day of arrival OPRD retains the first days fees. Changes are not allowed within one month of arrival.
