Interior sites at Big Bend Ranch SP are accessible by rugged unpaved roads only. RVs and trailers not outfitted with high clearance off-road suspensions are strongly discouraged from reserving interior sites. If you would like to reserve a site that can accommodate a standard RV or trailer, check availability for sites in the Barton Warnock Visitor Center location.
Site
This is Paso al Solitario. Must have a 2 Wheel Drive high clearance vehicle to access this site. Located near the northern rim of the Solitario. If you look closely at some of the limestone you can see several varieties of cacti and current caused ripple marks preserved in the ancient rocks.
Paso al Solitario is a great place to introduce children to the plants and animals of far West Texas. Climb the hill behind the campsite at daybreak for a truly breathtaking view of sunrise on the Solitario.
You will need 4WD and high-clearance to reach the campsite. The road heading northeast from the campsite is not maintained and may present serious obstacles to casual 4-wheelers, but is a fine hike. It is 5 miles from here to Los Alamos.

This site requires a toilet system to occupy. No composting toilet is available. No ''cat-holing'' is allowed. Toilet systems can be purchased at a visitor center. Capacity 8.
