Save the Day Passes
Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:
  • Valid until 10 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
  • Available up to 1 month in advance.
  • Not transferrable to another person or park.
  • Also sold at the park, if available.

Driving Directions
From Upper Valley: Take East Expressway 83 to Bentsen Palm Dr. Travel South on Bentsen Palm Dr. to the World Birding Center Headquarters at Bentsen State Park.

From Lower Valley: Take West Expressway 83 to Bentsen Palm Dr. Travel South on Bentsen Palm Dr. to the World Birding Center Headquarters at Bentsen State Park.
Alerts and Important Information
Le Chez Bleu Bistro Cafe hours are Fridays-Mondays and Wednesdays 10am-2pm November - April.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE: $5 per day, per person 13 and older.
$3 per person for groups of 10 or more - Contact the park to make prior arrangements.

Visitor traffic is restricted to foot, bicycle or staff provided tram service.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Park Open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm.
Park Store(Visitor's Center) is open daily 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Non-Peak Season (May-October)The tram runs Thursday through Sunday, every hour starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m..
Peak Season (November-April)The tram runs daily, every hour starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

On days the Visitor's Center is closed, the park will be accessible via self-pay station and by foot and bike traffic only. Tram service will not be available.

Notes
The park store closes at 4:30pm, and the last park shuttle is at 12:00pm. If you are arriving after 12:00pm you will need to walk or bicycle into the park with your camping equipment. The distance to the walk in primitive camping area is 3/4 mile to site from the parking lot.

All customers need to park their vehicles in the customer parking area. An entrance exhibit display that includes a park map is located in the parking lot.

All customers and overnight customer need check in and pay at the self-pay station located near the entrance into the park. An entrance kiosk with instructions of the payment process is located adjacent to the honor box.

You must stop by the Texas State Parks Store/customer Center before 9am to check in and renew for any additional nights.
