Use fee is $200 for up to 50 guests, every 25 guests beyond 100 are charged an additional $100. The Bathhouse pavilion has a capacity of 100 people. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT BEAR BROOK STATE PARK DAY USE AREA
In our day use area we have two main gathering places for organized groups and the general public. We have the Bathhouse pavilion located on Catamount Pond and the Shelter Area located across the street from the beach. The general park fees and answers to some of the common pavilion questions are listed below. Day-use fees are included in pavilion rentals.

Mon.-Fri. 9am to 8pm
Sat.-Sun. 8am to 8pm
Beach Store:
Sat.-Sun. 10am-6pm
Day Use Fees:
$4.00 per person ages 12 and older
$2.00 per person ages 6 through 11
All children under 6 and NH residents 65 and older are FREE
Bathhouse Area:
This pavilion can provide shelter for approximately 100 people. The structure is made of stone, overlooking Catamount Pond and was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 30's and 40's. The parking lot, lawn area, bathrooms, and beach are shared with the general public. The pavilion includes picnic tables and a large group grill, but electricity is not available. The area has a wheelchair ramp and stone stairs to access the pavilion. Along with easy access to the trail system, picnicking, fishing, swimming and sunbathing are some of the activities that take place in this area. The beach store is also located here and that is where canoes can be rented by the hour on weekends, based on weather. The Bathhouse rates are listed below.
Groups up to 50 people = $200
Groups from 51 to 75 people = $300
Groups from 76 to 100 people = $400
*Please be aware that vehicles will not have access to the bathhouse pavilion and must be parked in the lot. There is a paved walkway to deliver and remove items for your event.
The Shelter Area:
This structure is an open style pavilion. The shelter and the surrounding area can accommodate several hundred people. This area is completely handicap accessible and only a short walk to the beach located across the street. This shelter has its own bathroom facilities, parking lot, running water, barbeque pit, charcoal grill, electrical outlets, and fireplace; lighting is not part of the rental. The shelter also has quick access to the trail system and a softball field. The fee for this shelter is based upon attendance listed below.
Groups up to 100 people = $400
Groups from 101 to 125 people = $500
Groups from 126 to 150 people = $600
Groups from 151 to 175 people = $700
Etc. (Every 1 to 25 people = an additional $100)
Groups up to the capacity of 400 people = $1600

Special use permits are required for, but not limited to, events that require uncommon use of the park grounds. Any questions on what is uncommon use should be discussed with park staff prior to the event. There is a processing fee of $100. A provision of the permit is the renter providing a copy of general liability insurance worth a minimum of $1 million. This can be secured through your insurance company.
If your group is serving or providing alcohol, the Allenstown Police Department requires a detail officer present at the event. Their charge is $54.00 per hour (subject to change each year) and a work minimum of 4 hours. This is a requirement of the town and must be coordinated by you, the renter. They may be contacted by phone at (603) 485-9500 M-F 8-4.

- Allenstown PD must be contacted to inquire whether the function requires a detailed officer.
- Pets are not allowed at either shelters.
- Only once renter has contacted bearbrookstatepark@dncr.nh.gov will the reservation be confirmed.
- If renter wishes to inquire regarding list of prohibitions, such as bounce houses, water balloons, etc.- they must email bearbrookstatepark@dncr.nh.gov.
- Carry in- carry out. All Trash must be removed by renter. There is a $50 fee if trash is not removed day of event.
- Rental hours are from 8am-8pm.
- If renters wish to have outside vendors, liability insurance is required to state park no less than 2 weeks prior to planned event.
Additional Information the Renter Should Know:
- Pets are not allowed
- Live bands and generators are not allowed
- Please do not bring glass / grills are not allowed in the pavilions
- Trash is not to be burned or left behind
- NH parks have a carry in/carry out policy for trash
- Water balloons, balloon releases, confetti, and silly string are prohibited
- Bouncy houses, inflatable slides, and other inflatables are prohibited unless a special use permit is obtained prior to your visit. Special use permit applications can be requested by emailing dncr.stateparkpermits@dncr.nh.gov
- Nails, Screws, Staples and any other items that will damage the structure are not allowed.
- The pavilion opens at 8 am so we may clean the space prior to your arrival. We cannot allow early arrivals for set-up.
- We must be notified of any equipment rentals you are planning so we can let you know where they are allowed and when they must be removed.
