Save the Day Passes
Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:
  • Only valid for entry during the time slot you select. Once you enter, you may stay in the park for the rest of the day.
  • Valid until 10 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
  • Available up to 1 month in advance.
  • Not transferrable to another person or park.
  • Also sold at the park, if available.

Driving Directions
From Austin:
Take Hwy 71 east to Bastrop. Take exit for Tahitian Dr/Loop 150. Turn left under the bridge onto Loop 150. Travel 1 mile to park entrance on right.

From Houston:
Take I 10 West to Columbus. Exit Hwy 71 to Austin. Go to Bastrop and take exit for Tahitian Drive/Loop 150. Bear right onto Loop 150 and travel one mile to park entrance on right.

From San Antonio:
Take IH35 north to San Marcos. In San Marcos take Hwy 21 north to Hwy 71. Turn right onto Hwy 71 traveling east. Take exit for Tahitian Dr/Loop 150. Turn left under the bridge onto Loop 150. Travel 1 mile to park entrance on right.
Alerts and Important Information
September 18, 2023 - The main lake is closed to establish vegetation and prevent erosion on the lake banks. Fishing opportunities are available at the Lake Mina pond.

Some areas of the park remain closed due to prior flood and fire damage. The Purple Trail east of Harmon Rd. and the Orange Trail are also closed. Due to dam failure, the park's 10-acre lake is gone. Please obey all signs and barricades for closed areas.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE: $5 per person, per day for adults 13 and older. $3 per person, per day for adults 13 and older for Group Facility Use.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION: Park does not have a gate. Office hours are 8am to 4:30pm Sunday-Saturday.

POOL INFORMATION: The Bastrop State Park Pool is open seasonally. The 2023 season will end on August 12th. There is no gate; no gate code is necessary for entry.

If arriving late for a camping reservation, campers can view the posted `Reservations` sheet on the kiosk outside of the Park Headquarters. To the right of their name will be the site assigned to them. Walk in campers can find an available campsite on the `Available Campsite` list. All the sites that are available in each area are listed as of the time the office closed.

All late arrivals must come up the park headquarters by 9am the next morning to check in and receive park issued entry permits.

If arriving late for Day Use, there is a kiosk located next to headquarters that serves as self-pay station. All instructions are on kiosk on how to fill out Self-Pay envelope, where to deposit money, and to place white copy on vehicle. Park closes to Day Use customers at 10pm.


If arriving late, keys for your cabin are located outside the main door of the HQ building. The code for your cabin's lock box is the last 4 digits of the phone number of your reservation. Please fill out the rental agreement that is in a binder at the cabin and bring it to HQ at check in the following morning.

All late arrivals must return to the park headquarters by 9am the next morning to pay the balance on the reservation and entrance fees for length of stay.

If leaving cabin or group barracks before the headquarters opens, key drop box is on the departing side of the headquarters.
