Alerts and Important Information
May 31, 2023 - Road conditions in the interior of the park are very rough with frequent washouts and loose gravel. If you are traveling to the interior, you must have at least a 2WD high clearance vehicle. Vehicles with low clearance should not attempt to travel to the interior district. Please use caution.

To reserve a campsite in the interior of Big Bend Ranch State Park, visit Big Bend’s reservation page.

All campsites can be reserved in advance by calling the Big Bend Ranch SP reservation line at 512-389-8919.

Call park for daily weather and river level reports.

Park staff can only make same-day reservations. Reservations for the future can be made online or by calling the reservation line at 512-389-8919.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE:

PARK PHONE NUMBER: 432-424-3327
Notes
Visitors can check in at Fort Leaton State Historic Site or the Barton Warnock Visitor Center. Fort Leaton State Historic Site and Barton Warnock Visitor Center are open 8am to 4:30pm daily; the park itself does not close.

There is no reliable cell signal in the park and you should not use GPS to navigate directly to your campsite. Orientation maps are available 24/7 outside of each BBRSP ranger station. Always orient yourself before driving in to the park.

After-hours check-in:
If you have a campsite along the River Corridor (FM 170), proceed to your campground and select a site. Check in at a Visitor Center the following morning to alert park staff that you arrived and/or to make additional reservations.

If you have a site in the park interior, prior to arrival please call Barton Warnock VC at (432) 424-3327 or Fort Leaton SHS (432) 229-3613 for instructions.

If you arrive in the park interior after dark and you do not know where your site is, you may overnight at Botella Junction and call Barton Warnock Visitor Center or Fort Leaton the next morning.

For after-hours emergencies, call 911, Presidio County Sheriff's Office - 432-729-4308, or Brewster County Sheriff's Office - 432-837-3488.
