Description:

Located on picturesque Lake George, just 2 miles north of the Village of Lake George, Hearthstone Point has become a very popular vacation location. The Lake George region offers some of the most diverse recreation opportunities in the state. A Junior Naturalist Program is offered at Hearthstone; campers can earn naturalist patches for their efforts.

Hearthstone Point is located on Lake George.

Recreation:

All types of watercraft are allowed on the lake for boating and fishing. Fish present in Lake George include lake trout, landlocked salmon, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, and a variety of pan fish. There are numerous hiking trails in the vicinity, as well as a swimming beach.

Facilities:

The park offers tent and trailer sites, hot showers, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, a recycling center, handicapped accessibility, a sand beach, a swimming area, and a gazebo.

Nearby Attractions:

Nature lovers will find boating, canoeing, hiking, and mountain climbing nearby. Shoppers will enjoy the outlet malls, and everyone can enjoy the restaurants, theme parks, theatres, and historic sites.

Alerts and Important Information

  • To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.
  • This is a site specific reservation campground.
  • All persons entering the campground must be registered.
  • Upon arrival campers must have their camping equipment and be prepared to set up.
  • No permits will be issued and no unregistered sites will be occupied between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  • Check in time is 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Campers must register and occupy their site by 9:00 p.m. on the first night of their reservation.
  • Check out time is 11 a.m. Campers must vacate their campsite no later than 11:00 a.m. on the date the camping permit expires.
  • No one under 18 years of age can reserve a site or be issued a camping permit.Campers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older.
  • You must sign for your own site. No one else may register a site for you.
  • Occupancy is limited to 6 people per site.
  • Two tents or one unit of hard wheeled camping equipment and a tent is allowed per site.
  • The names of all campers staying on a site must be listed on the camping permit when you first register at the facility.
  • Two vehicles are allowed per site. Additional vehicles will be charged a daily fee and cannot be parked at the site.
  • Length Of Stay:A camping permit can only be issued for a maximum of two weeks.From July 1 through Labor Day, only 14 cumulative days of camping can be obtained at any campground. This is to ensure that new campers can enjoy their right to camp. Reservations may not be honored if you have more than 14 days cumulative camping between July 1 and Labor Day at the campground.
  • Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and are strictly enforced.Campers not listed on the camping permit are not allowed in the facility during these hours.Generators may not be operated during these hours.
  • A recycling center is available for refuse disposal.
  • To cancel a reservation more than 2 days prior to the date of your arrival,cancel online or contact ReserveAmeica at 1-800-456-2267.To cancel a reservation within 2 days of your arrival, please call the campground at 518-668-5193.
  • Possession of firearms, fireworks or the operation of chainsaws is strictly forbidden.Handicapped Access Sites:Sites that are accessible to the disabled are for mobility impaired people only.At least one member of the camping party staying on the site must be mobility impaired (for example, in a wheelchair or uses a walker) or the camping party will be turned away at the campground.
  • Refunds will not be made except in cases of bona fide emergencies, such as a death in the family, serious accident, or illness.
  • Memorial Day Weekend Only:In our continuing effort to provide you with a safe and enjoyable experience within our public campgrounds, the following Special Rules and Regulation will be in effect for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. PROHIBITED:Beer Balls and Beer Kegs.Alcohol permit required if quantities exceed one case of beer, one liter of liquor, or two liters of wine per site.All campers must wear ID bracelets, provided at registration throughout your stay.No vehicle traffic after midnight. No visitors allowed.The full names of all members of the camping party must be listed on the camping permit at the time of registration.Unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, no person under 21 years of age shall possess alcoholic beverages within any campground.
  • There are no boat launch facilities at this park.
  • There are limited day use facilities at this park.
  • Pets are allowed wit proof of current/valid rabies vaccination. Campers can walk a dog on a leash no longer than 6 feet as long as the dog is under control.Dogs cannot be left unattended.Pets are not allowed in day use areas,beaches or any structures.
