FAIR HAVEN BEACH STATE PARK, NYOpen year round. Now booking: up to Sat Apr 04 2009 Description:Fair Haven Beach State Park has one of the finest public lakefronts in upstate New York, with high bluffs above sandy beaches and hilly woodlands. Inland, Sterling Pond is surrounded by campsites and cabins, eight of the latter winterized. The swimming and fishing are excellent. Rowboats, paddleboats and canoes are for rent. The park has two boat launches, a recreation building and concession. Geography:Fair Haven Beach State Park is located in upstate New York on the Lake Ontario shoreline. Recreation:Visitors here enjoy swimming and diving boards, biking, boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, and camping. Winter sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing are very popular. Swimming and diving boards. Facilities:The park's beach, boat launch sites, boat rentals, dockage, marina, campsites with showers and dumping stations, cabins with refrigerators, picnic area, pavilions, playground, scenic views, and nature trail make it a unique destination. Most amenities are accessible to disabled visitors. Camping is seasonal, but eight cabins are open year-round. The Taft, Young, and Bay View Cottages are located within the park. Nearby Attractions:Selkirk Shores State Park, Fort Ontario State Historic Site, Battle Island State Park, and Cayuga Lake State Park are nearby. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationCampers must be 21 years old to possess or consume alcohol. No kegs or beer balls. Pet owners must have a current rabies certificate for pets. Pets must be on a 6 foot leash at all times and never left unattended. Cabin numbers 34 and 35 have showers and toilets. Cabins 9 and 12 have no running water from Columbus Day -April 15. SITES 359 - 419 - Reservations WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED from LABOR DAY to COLUMBUS DAY. WALK-INS ONLY. If you have any questions please call the park office at (315) 947-5205. Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period.
