Dead Horse Point State Park, UT

Description:

Towering 2,000 feet directly above the Colorado River, Dead Horse Point State Park provides a breathtaking panorama of the sculptured pinnacles and buttes of Canyonlands National Park. A new visitor center offers information on the history, geology, and biology of the area. The small and remote, but very popular, campground rests in a beautiful red rock desert environment. There are no showers available and the closest town of Moab is 25 miles away.

Alerts and Important Information



  • Dead Horse Group Area Reservations

  • There are no showers at the park.

  • Recreational vehicles must fill water tanks before coming to the park. All water is trucked to the park from Moab.

  • Please conserve water.

  • Dead Horse group area holds a minimum of 12 people/maximum of 30 people.

  • Park opens for reservations March 1 of each year.

  • No wood fires allowed stoves and charcoal are okay.

  • One campsite is wheelchair accessible and is available by reservation.
