DescriptionSeason for Peak Fees: 03/01 to 11/30Just 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles, the park has over 4,000 acres, featuring hiking, fishing, bird watching and horseback riding opportunities. There are 15 miles of streamside trail through oak and sycamore woodlands and chaparral-covered slopes. Twenty-five-mile Malibu Creek in the park is the principal water-course of the Santa Monica Mountains - from Boney Mountain to Malibu Lagoon. The park was the center of Chumash Native American life for centuries and was once used to film numerous movies and TV shows, such as Planet of the Apes and M*A*S*H. Park Kiosk Hours:

Alerts and Important Information Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).
Occupancy by the same persons, equipment, or vehicles of the Angeles District's camping facilities is limited to a total of 30 days in any calendar year. These facilities include: Leo Carrillo State Park Campground, Malibu Creek State Park Campground and Point Mugu State Park campgrounds including Sycamore Canyon and Thornhill Broome. March 16th through October 16th: Occupancy is limited to 7 consecutive days in each of the above campgrounds. Following the 7 Day limit there must be a 48 hour period of vacancy beginning 12 noon on the check out day to 12 noon of the second day following before the same person, group, vehicles or equipment may occupy that campground. October 17 through March 15th: Occupancy is limited to 15 consecutive days in each of the above campgrounds. Following the 15 Day limit there must be a 48 hour period of vacancy beginning 12 noon on the check out day to 12 noon of the second day following before the same person, group, vehicles or equipment may occupy that campground.
