Alerts and Important Information D.L. Bliss, Donner Memorial, Emerald Bay, Sugar Pine Point and Tahoe SRA are OPEN during the winter for hiking and snowshoeing, but these parks are CLOSED to camping beginning mid-September (varies by park).
Due to the new Placer County bike path that runs through the park, Tahoe SRA no longer has an overflow parking area. Parking arrangements will have to be made for overflow vehicles within legal areas in Tahoe City or the surrounding area. Regarding Sites 4, 5, 6, 20, 22, and 26, these campsites are located adjacent to Highway 28 in Tahoe City. You will likely experience some road and urban noise during your visit. Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). WARNING: Metal bear resistant food lockers are provided in each campsite. All food, beverages, and toiletries are required by law to be stored in provided food lockers. The inside dimensions of the food lockers are 36" deep, 43" wide, and 22" high. Violators will be cited. Camp at your own risk! By choosing to enter or camp at Tahoe SRA you assume the risk of personal injury or property damaged caused by bears. Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. This park is above 6,200-ft elevation. Campsite availability is subject to unpredictable and adverse weather conditions including snow closures, which may result in cancelled reservations. Campers are strongly advised to bring appropriate clothing and camping gear for cold weather conditions.
