Advance Reservations: Individual campsite reservations are accepted up to 16 weeks in advance from park departure date. If campsites are available, reservations can be made a minimum of two days in advance of arrival date. An $8 non-refundable reservation fee is charged for each site reserved. Number of Sites: Customers may reserve up to three campsites per phone call or Internet session at one park for the same date and time period. Parties requiring additional space are encouraged to reserve a group area.
Group Reservations: Group reservations are accepted up to 11 months in advance from park departure date. A $10.25 non-refundable fee is charged for group sites and building rentals. A minimum, non-refundable fee, will be charged at the time the reservation is made.
Length of Stay: Length of stay generally is limited to 14 days (five days at Snow Canyon) within any 30-day period. Jordanelle and Sand Hollow state parks offer longer stays.
Payment: Payment is required at the time a reservation is made. Payments can be made by VISA, MasterCard, American Express, debit card, check, money order, traveler's check or cash. Personal checks must be received within seven days of the date the reservation is made. Reservations made less than 30 days in advance require a credit card or cash payment. A $20 fee is charged for returned checks. Internet reservation payments can be made with credit card only. However, please allow up to 24 hours after a credit card payment for your reservation to be confirmed.
Check-In, Check-Out: Check-in time is 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. (5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Wasatch Mountain State Park). Check-out time is 2 p.m. (noon at Dead Horse Point State Park).
No Show and Late Arrival: Campsites not occupied by 10 a.m. the day after scheduled arrival date are made available to other campers. Many parks do not allow access after 10 p.m. If you must arrive late, notify the park. No refunds are granted for no shows.
Confirmation: A reservation confirmation with campsite and campground information, arrival and departure dates, park rules, and reservation policies is mailed This confirmation number will be used to reference your reservation when making any changes.
Changes and Cancellations: Changes and Cancellations: Changes and cancellations must be made through the Reservation Call Center at (801) 322-3770 in Salt Lake or toll-free 1 (800) 322-3770 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Changes may be made up to 2 days prior to the scheduled arrival date and will incur a $5 fee per site changed. Cancellations made seven days or more in advance of the scheduled arrival date (14 days for group sites) will receive a refund less the non-refundable reservation fee and a $5 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than seven days in advance (14 days for group sites) will receive a refund less the non-refundable reservation fee, $5 cancellation fee, and the first night camping fee.
Refunds: Refunds are not given for bugs or bad weather. Refunds for cancelled reservations paid for with a credit card, will be made by crediting that same card. If the reservation was paid by check or any other method, a refund check will be mailed within four to six weeks.
Campsite Limits and Extra Vehicles: Unless otherwise noted on your confirmation, one camping unit and a maximum of eight people are allowed per campsite. A camping unit is one tent, one trailer or one camper. Only one vehicle is allowed per campsite. A vehicle and attached in-tow equipment is considered one vehicle. An additional vehicle, space permitting, will be charged half the camping fee per night, with any odd amounts being rounded to the next dollar. Campsites that are $9 per night will charge an extra vehicle the full $9.
Pets: Pets are welcome at most state parks. However, they must be on a maximum six-foot leash and not left unattended. Pets are not allowed in buildings, on beaches, or in lakes or reservoirs. Please pick up after your pets. Pets are not allowed at Rock Cliff Recreation Area at Jordanelle State Park, and pets at Deer Creek State Park are limited to the campground and are not allowed on beaches, in the water, or onboard boats.
Quiet Hours: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Unreserved Campsites: All unreserved campsites are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Campsites for the Disabled: Accessible sites are available. Please check individual park amenities at www.stateparks.utah.gov for details.
Emergency Closures: In the event of a natural emergency or sudden campground closure, all camping fees will be refunded.
