Glossary
Agency
The active organization governing the parks, marinas, and facilities within a state or region. Government agencies can be either at a State or the Federal level. An example of an agency would the State of South Carolina.
Arrival Date
The date on which you plan to arrive at a facility (campground or marina) or the first day of a reservation stay. Used to determine an availability search when searching for a site or facility.
Availability Matrix
The Availability Matrix is a snapshot view of the availability of a site over a 2 week period. Users can move forward a week or back a week to continue seeing the availability for the site.
Available Inventory
Available Inventory refers to an available accommodation (site, cabin, yurt, etc.) to be booked online or through the Call Center. Sites or cabins are considered Inventory.
Campground
A location to book reservations for a site, a yurt, or a cabin. This is the same as park, marina, or facility.
Dates
Searching for availability by dates will display available inventory (sites, cabins, yurts, etc.) for the dates entered. Specific booking dates are required when making a reservation. Two options are commonly available on a date search: Date Range, or Specific Dates.
Facility
A location to book reservations for a site, a yurt, or a cabin. A facility is the same as campground or park.
Fees
Fees consist of the charge or cost applied when a reservation is made through one of the ReserveAmerica sales channels (Web, Field, or Call Center). A reservation cost is broken down by many fees and may vary based on the site/slip type, the season, and the location.
Important Information
Important Information located on the Reservation Details page before proceeding to book a reservation is information about a campground’s or marina’s policies or rules that must be acknowledged before continuing. In some cases, the information might be specific to that location; this is important to know before arriving at the facility (such as a lock gate number).
Inventory
Available Inventory refers to an available accommodation (site, slip, cabin, yurt, etc.) to be booked online or through the Call Center. Sites or cabins are considered Inventory.
Inventory Hold Time Out
The Inventory Hold Time Out determines the amount of time that inventory will be held while being booked through the selected sales channel. The Hold Time Out will commence at the starting point as specified in the business rule.
Maximum Concurrent Reservations
The Maximum Number of Concurrent Reservations determines how many concurrent reservations are allowed by the same customer.
Maximum Number of Orders Per Call
The Maximum Number of Orders determines the maximum number of reservations a customer can make per call (this is an option available in the period of time). If the Maximum Number of Orders was set to 3 and the period set to 1 call, a customer would only be allowed to place 3 orders per call.
Maximum Number of Orders within a Booking Period
This rule determines the maximum number of reservations a user is allowed to book within the same booking period. A booking period is a pre-determined period of time (hours, days) in which this number of bookings is allowed.
Maximum Number of Orders within a Stay Period
This rule determines the maximum number of orders within a specific period of time, or stay period.
Maximum Number of Reservations with Same Start Date
The maximum number of reservations with the same starting date that a customer is allowed to book at the same facility.
Maximum Total Stay
Determines the total maximum number of days a customer is allowed to stay at a park or marina for the duration of a season. The system will not allow a user to book a reservation when they have exceeded this period of time.
Maximum Window
Determines how far in advance a reservation can be made before the arrival date. When searching for an available campground/campsite or marina slip, this determines the first date there will be availability, if searching prior to the start of the season.
Minimum Window
Determines how close a reservation can be made before the arrival date. When entering or selecting the arrival date for a campground/campsite or marina slip search, the date must not be before the minimum window.
Occupants
Occupants refers to the individual people staying on a site/slip or at a cabin for a specific reservation. The primary occupant is the individual responsible for the site/slip; all other individuals staying on the site/slip must be listed as occupants.
Park
A location to book reservations for a site, slip, yurt, or cabin. This is the same as a campground, marina, or facility.
Partial Match (In Search)
A partial match is one that matches one or more characteristics (attributes, in particular) specified in the search criteria, but didn't match all characteristics. Typically, a partial match is based on a match to an unknown value such as proximity to water or electricity.
Primary Occupant
See also Occupants. The primary occupant is the contact individual responsible for a stay at a site/slip, or in a cabin. The primary occupants personal information will be required before checking in to a site or cabin.
Reservation Number
The Reservation Number is a unique, system-generated number to identify a reservation or booking made through the Field, Call Center, or Web. The reservation number is important for tracking and identifying specific details of a reservation in case follow up is required.
Seasons
The date range a park is open to receive reservations, walk-ins, float-ins, or day use patronage. For example, some parks are open all year.
Site Type
The Site Type is a classification of a site. It determines what a site has to offer.
