Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts State Parks and Campgrounds.

The reservation must be in the name of the primary occupant.

To insure fairness for all customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 6-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

If you choose to cancel or change your reservation, a $10 fee will be charged. The reservation transaction charge is non-refundable.

Cancellations made on the day of arrival must be made by contacting the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping use fee plus the $10 cancellation fee. Fees will be deducted from any refunds due or will be added to future reservations. Refunds of $5 or less cannot be processed. If you leave early, please check-out at the contact station.

If you are unable to arrive on your scheduled date, you must call the campground. Failure to contact the park by 8 A.M. the morning following your scheduled arrival date may result in your campsite being reassigned to another camper and forfeiture of all fees paid.

• Mt. Greylock is a hike-in, car-free campground.
• The Mt. Greylock primitive camping area can be reached by a 2.5 mile strenuous hike from the Hopper Road Trail Head at the base of the mountain. A less strenuous 1.3 mile hike to the camping area is available from the parking lot located on Rockewll Road during the main camping season only.
• Mt. Greylock State Reservation is Black Bear country. Campers must comply with all wildlife guidelines at the park level. Bears are regular visitors to this campground. Bears are wild and can be dangerous. To protect your family and your property, keep all food, toiletries, coolers, and cooking supplies and equipment in the food storage lockers provided. Please do not feed the bears.
• Campers should approach the hike and the camping experience with proper clothing and equipment, knowledge of mountain hiking and be accustomed to primitive camping. Attempting to hike to the campground from the bottom of the mountain should not be attempted with two hours or less from sunset.
• Drinking water is available at the campground.
• There is no public phone at the campground and cell phone service is unreliable. There are public phones at the Hopper Road Trailhead or at the Visitor Center.
• Winter camping is allowed. However, please be aware that the campground is six miles from the plowed visitor center parking lot and after snowfall it is accessible by snowmobile, snowshoes, skis or hiking only. No off-road vehicle use is permitted.
• Campers parking in the trailhead parking lots are advised not to leave valuables in their vehicles.

Getting There:

Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. 90) to Exit 2 (Lee). Turn right onto Rte. 20 to Rte. 7 North towards Lenox and Pittsfield. Follow Rte. 7 North through Pittsfield to the Town of Lanesborough. Take right onto North Main St. Follow signs. Go 1.8 miles to the Visitor Center. Campground parking lot is located on Rockwell Road, five miles from Visitor Center.

To Hopper Road Trailhead Parking

Take Rte. 7 into Williamstown, turn east onto Rte. 43. Travel approximately 2.5 miles to Hopper Road. Take right onto Hopper Road, go to end approximately 2 miles to trailhead parking.
