Come to the hub of Maine. This central location makes it easy to explore both the coast and the mountains. Whale watching, puffin and lighthouse cruises leave the Boothbay Harbor 30 miles away, or take a cruise to Monhegan Island. Drive along the coast and see quaint fishing villages and 19th-century homes. Visit some of the numerous antique shops in the area. Return and walk to the lake where there are eagles, loons and great fishing, or take a boat ride and watch the sunset.
