Scusset Beach State Res., MADescriptionBathroom facilites and water are not available after October 15, 2009 until open day of 2010. Off-season camping, weekends only - for self-contained units only from Mid October to Mid April.
Scusset Beach is located on Cape Cod Bay at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal. It is a popular swimming and year-round camping area. There are 98 sites with water and electric utilities for RV campers and 5 tent only campsites. For salt water anglers, the area offers a popular fishing pier, a 3000 foot breakwater and 1 1/2 miles of frontage along the canal. A picnic area and bicycling along the canal are great for watching the variety of boats and ships passing through the canal. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationIMPORTANT: Beginning in the 2010 camping season, MA State Parks prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities. Firewood will be available at the campground for a donation of $5.00 per bundle. Transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities may result in eviction, or substantial fine, or both. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts State Parks and Campgrounds. The reservation must be in the name of the primary occupant. To insure fairness for all MA customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 6-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after the reservation was made. If you choose to cancel or change your reservation, a $10.00 fee will be charged. The reservation transaction charge is non-refundable. Cancellations made on the day of arrival must be made by contacting the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping use fee plus the $10.00 cancellation fee. Fees will be deducted from any refunds due or will be added to future reservations. Refunds of $5.00 or less cannot be processed. If you leave early, please check-out at the contact station. If you are unable to arrive on your scheduled arrival date, you must call the campground. Failure to contact the park by 8:00 A.M. the morning following your scheduled arrival date may result in your campsite being reassigned to another camper and forfeiture of all fees paid. From South of Boston: Rte. 3 toward Plymouth/Cape Cod. Take Exit 1A for US-5 West toward Buzzards Bay/Falmouth/Scusset Beach Rd. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Scusset Beach Rd. Turn left at Scenic Hwy. Continue on Meetinghouse Lane. Continue on Scusset Beach Rd. From the Cape: US-6 West towards Boston/Providence R.I. Take the exit toward Canal St/Rte. 3A. Slight right at Canal St/Rte. 3A. Turn right at Meetinghouse Lane. Continue on Scusset Beach Rd. From Wareham: US-6 East. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto Main St. At Bourne Rotary Cir N, take the first exit onto US-6 East heading to Hyannis/Provincetown/Rte. 3/Plymouth. Continue on Meetinghouse Lane.
