CLOSURE: MASSASOIT STATE PARK IS CLOSED FOR THE 2010 CAMPING SEASON Massasoit State Park, MADescriptionIMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2010 SEASON: Massasoit State Park campground will be closed for the 2010 season, as the electric system servicing the campground is in need of repair. As an alternative, DCR encourages campers in southeastern Massachusetts to enjoy nearby Myles Standish State Forest. Myles Standish is close to the historic town of Plymouth, and just a few miles from scenic Cape Cod. It offers 400 campsites, tucked in the woods and set along the edges of the forest's 16 ponds.
