Description

High Falls Park is a 46 acre park nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and located on the shores of beautiful Lake Keowee. There are 91 campsites with 10 being waterfront. All have electrical hookup (20 &30 amp), water service, and bathhouses are located within the campgrounds with the dump station located outside the park entrance. The Park offers three rental buildings/shelters for reunions, birthday parties, award ceremonies, and picnics. Other day use facilities include picnic tables with charcoal grills, swimming area, restroom, miniature golf, one tennis and basketball court, volleyball, two boat ramps, fishing pier, and a playground. Lake Keowee is over 18,000 acres and provides a pristine, blue reservoir popular for water sports and fishing.

Geography:

National Geographic released a Special Publication in November - 2012 titled "50 of the World's Last Great Places - Destinations of a Lifetime". Our remarkable Jocassee Gorges is one of those places. In the northwestern-most corner of South Carolina is Oconee County, known as the "Mountain Lakes Region" because of its climate, its spectacularly beautiful lakes and the beauty of its Blue Ridge Mountains.

Recreation:

Today, outdoor recreation, adventure travel and family together time are hot buttons for tourists, and Oconee County offers the perfect setting for an affordable vacation for active families, outdoor types of all ages, couples and retirees. Biking, horseback riding, boating, whitewater rafting, paddling, fishing, hiking, camping, golfing, birding and antiquing are plentiful here. Oconee County includes lakes Hartwell, Keowee and Jocassee, rushing and lazy rivers, including the federally-designated Wild and Scenic Chattooga, endless waterfalls, the Sumter National Forest and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all neighboring the mountains of North Carolina and Northeast Georgia, making it within easy access to most of the Southeast.

On-site recreation amenities includes picnic tables with charcoal grills, swimming area, restroom, miniature golf, one tennis and basketball court, volleyball, two boat ramps, fishing pier, and a playground. Lake Keowee is over 18,000 acres and provides a pristine, blue reservoir popular for water sports and fishing.

Facilities:

The campground offers 91 campsites, of which 10 are waterfront. All RV sites have 30, or 20-amp electrical hookup, tent sites have 20-amp electrical hookup and water. Other amenities include four bathhouses, playgrounds, a swim beach and a dump station. There are also three shelters that must be reserved for family reunions, birthdays, or group get-togethers.

The Mountain Lakes region offers an abundance of nearby attractions including the Sumter National Forest, Wild & Scenic Chattooga River, world class waterfalls, Stumphouse Tunnel, Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail, a thriving arts community, Clemson University and re-vitalized downtown atmospheres full of shopping and dining.

Alerts and Important Information
Arriving campers must have camping equipment and be prepared to set up. Only registered campers will be allowed in the park after park hours. The park gate is locked nightly at 10pm and opens at 7am. There is a fee of $50 to open the gate between these times
  • One Rv per site or two tents or one RV and one tent per site
  • Six (6) persons per site max
  • Alcohol is not allowed, including the campground area
