The Beaver Pond Campground adjoins the Lake Welch Recreation Area within Harriman State Park. Comfortable camping, a relaxing atmosphere, a beach, and plenty of outdoor activities make this a great destination not far from New York City.
The Beaver Pond Campground is located just 25 miles north of the George Washington Bridge.
Park activities include swimming, picnicking, camping, and walking.
The campground offers tent and trailer sites, as well as accommodations for larger vehicles. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. Comfort stations, showers, laundry facilities, and a dumping station are part of the campground. A protected swimming beach is available when lifeguards are on duty.
Nearby recreation areas include Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site; Rockland Lake State Park; Bear Mountain State Park; and Lake Tiorati Beach and Lake Welch Beach, both are swimming facilities in Harriman State Park.
Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice.
