Overview

Highland Ridge overlooks the sparkling Eau Galle Reservoir in western Wisconsin. The area boasts 630 acres of scenery with numerous opportunities for recreation, including fishing, canoeing and plenty of hiking. Horseback riders will enjoy the trails around the lush region.

Natural Features:

The 35-mile Eau Galle River feeds into Eau Galle Lake, which is surrounded by steep hills and bluffs. The campground is opposite the dam on the north side of the small reservoir. The area is set in a heavily wooded area that provides a welcoming habitat for native plants and animals.

Recreation:

Hikers can enjoy the interpretive trails, like the Ox Trail that leads to the Northwest Day Use Area.
Fishermen cast their reels year-round.

Facilities:

Highland Ridge has 45 campsites including seven walk-in tent sites. Showers, trash/recycle station, and playground are all available for campers.

Highland Ridge Equestrian Loop has 10 non-electrical sites. Manure pits, satellite toilets, and garbage stations are available for campers.

Nearby Attractions:

Highland Ridge is minutes from a golf course and Crystal Cave, Wisconsin's longest cave.

  • No firearms or fireworks allowed The campground will be first-come, first-serve only in the months of April and November. The opening date of the campground in April and the closing date of the campground in November will vary depending on the weather conditions. Please call the park office at 715-778-5562 to verify that the campground is open.
