Phase II Cabin Renovation Project.
Beginning July 1, 2015 thru December 31, 2016, Cabins 4 thru 13 at Herrington Manor State Park may be closed during these dates as a result of planned renovation projects. Due to the nature of the work and that plans are still being developed, interested persons should frequently check back to see if any cabin may have been reopened. Plans may change as to how the cabins will be worked on and/or maybe reopened once the work is completed. For additional information, contact Herrington Manor 301-334-9180.
In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.
A hidden gem tucked away in Western Maryland! This park features a 53-acre lake and wooded trails, which are used for cross-country skiing in the winter and swimming, rowboats, canoes and paddle boats in the summer. Picnicking, hiking, tennis, volleyball are a few others activities enjoyed here. 20 furnished rustic log cabins can be rented year round. Popular special events such as maple syrup demonstrations, apple butter making and family fishing events are held throughout the year.

The interpretive nature walks are VERY informative and professional. The naturalists really added to our experience at the park!
The park is kept so tidy and well-groomed!
The rangers and park naturalists were so helpful and informative. They took a lot of time to explain things and the programs turned our vacation into a real educational experience for the entire family. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!
Swallow Falls State Park (3 miles)
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins, motorhomes, and designated shelters. Permits may be issued upon request by the Park Manager for special events operating under a use agreement.
Alcohol Permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit and must be obtained 1-day out prior to arrival. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resource Police Officer.
