In addition to enjoying the spectacular views of the Illinois and Missisippi Rivers from several points atop the bluffs, visitors can take advantage of a variety of year-round recreational opportunities including horseback riding, camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund.

A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party.
Camping rate discounts apply to Illinois residents only.
The maximum length of camping stay is 14 nights in a 30 day period between May 1 and September 30.
A minimum of 3 nights must be reserved for Memorial Day, Indepedence Day, and Labor Day weekends.
Responsible use of alcohol is permitted in the park and campground.
All pets must be on a leash. Pet owners are responsible for cleanup of their animal's waste.
The Park closes for day use visitors at 9:00PM.
Firewood Ban: It is illegal to bring firewood from out-of-state, or from a quarantine area or adjacent counties where wood exportation or movement has been prohibited by State or Federal Law.

  • The maximum number of individuals per site is 4 adults with or without children
  • Sites can accommodate a maximum of 1 wheeled camper and 1 tent, or 2 tents.

  • Groups of 25 or more are required to register at the visitor center in advance.
