Grossinger's is still a beautiful country oasis among the elite courses in the Catskills perhaps the best work of Houston architect Joe Finger. Surprisingly Finger didn't follow his mentor Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and go Texas Big in designing Grossinger's. Rather he took a blessed piece of land with natural elevation changes, lakes, creeks, hardwood trees and wonderfully routed it to reward ball flight and touch rather than brute power and distance.

Since opening in 1912, Pocono Manor's East Course, of Donald Ross architecture has been host to many of the legends of golf. Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Tommy Bolt, Gene Littler, Doug Ford, Jackie Burke, and Jerry Barber are just some of the famous players who have tested their skills here at the Manor. Art Wall, Jr. while representing Pocono Manor as a touring professional, won the Masters and was named the PGA player of the year in 1959.

In 1965 Pocono Manor completed and opened its George Fazio designed West Course. Longer and more open, this beautiful course has matured wonderfully and is a favorite of the long ball hitter. The 7,000 plus yards distance from the championship tee, and 5,236 yards from the ladies, gives the course just the right amount of challenge for all golf levels.
