Rock Manor Golf Course Established in 1921, The Rock has been lengthened from 5,779 yards to an 18-hole, 6,405-yard championship design by renowned golf-course architect Lester George. Additionally, the course now boasts new tee boxes, greens, bunkers and fairways, as well as a state-of-the-art irrigation system for top playing conditions all season long.

Beckett Country Club There are three nine-hole courses at this facility offering a great deal of variety at each. The White Course is more wide open with large greens where as the Blue Course is tree lined. The Red Course is the flattest of them all with large greens. Water hazards come into play on all three courses. The Blue Monster - #5 par five on the blue is a favorite among all players because it is a severe dogleg around water.

Centerton Golf Club is a par-71 course with traditional red, white, and blue tees, ranging from 6,600 to 5,716 yards, and with its gently rolling layout, is an easy course to walk. Men, women, junior, and senior golfers can quickly find their respective playing level.

Named after the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt Golf Club was established in 1940. The fairways are wide providing generous landing areas, and the greens are of average size and well-bunkered. In addition to natural wetlands, a canal runs through the course and crosses the fairway of the 420-yard signature 10th hole. Overall, water hazards can come into play on a total of ten holes.

Cobb's Creek Golf Club has two regulation 18 hole courses at the facility. (The Olde Course & The Karakung Course) The stats below are for The Olde Course, the longer of the two. The Olde Course was recognized as the Sixth Best Municipal Golf Course in the United States by Golf Week magazine (Jan. 2000).

There are two 18-hole courses at Cobb's Creek, Karakung and the Olde Course. The latter, however, is the crown jewel of public courses in the Philadelphia region. Rated the sixth best municipal course in the country by Golfweek Magazine, it's a mature, tree-lined course designed in 1916 by architect Hugh Wilson, who also designed the famed Merion-East course in nearby Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Cobbs Creek itself meanders through the course and is in play on the first six holes.

The par 71, 6,500-yard, 18-hole layout, features dramatically tall oak trees lining and separating all holes. The natural sloping of the golf course emphasizes pinpoint positioning of golf shots. This is especially true on two of White Oaks' many signature holes. They include the "whopping" 621-yard, par 5 #7 and the biting par 4 #9 hole, where golfers are forced to hit their second shot over a deceiving double green, guarded by water.

A very well kept course, with a few interesting holes per 9. It has 27 holes and at $27 per round on weekdays and $33 per round on weekends it is a great value. ***

John F. Byrne Golf Club is one of the most respected courses in Philadelphia. Purchased by the City in the early 1960's, it was renamed after famous Philadelphia councilman, John F. Byrne. The Alex Findlay layout has played host to numerous tournaments including the Philadelphia PGA Senior Publinks Championship.
