Located in East Central Illinois - just a short drive from Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Effingham and other surrounding communities, Wolf Creek State Park is situated on the central part of beautiful Lake Shelbyville and provides the perfect setting outdoor recreation and natural relaxation for a day, weekend, or even longer. Eight miles northwest of Windsor, the site is situated on 11,100 acres of water with 250 miles of shoreline and offer large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodland ideal for camping, hiking,horseback riding, snowmobiling, fishing,swimming, waterskiing, pontoon boating, or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake itself.

Alerts and Important Information
For a campsite, a "Single Family" consisting of 4 related adults with or without children occupying the same shelter are allowed; or a "Single Group" consisting of 4 unrelated adults with or without children occupying the same shelter are allowed.
A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party.
Pets must be leashed and attended at all times and all waste must be attended to properly.
For the sake of all campers, disorderly conduct or unreasonable noise will not be permitted. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m.
A swimming beach is available (when conditions permit). The cost is $1.00 per person.
Illinois Administrative Code governs visiting and camping at all State Facilities. Please visit our website at dnr.state.il.us for complete information regarding rules and regulations or contact the site prior to your visit.
Actions by nature can result in closed roads and other facilities. Please check ahead of your visit for information on such closures.

Located just 6 miles North of Windsor, Illinois, Wolf Creek State Park is conveniently located close to I-57 as well as several major highways and state routes. Wolf Creek is approximately 30 miles West from I-57 at Mattoon, Illinois (exit onto Rt. 16 West), 9 miles South of Sullivan (HWY 121 & RT. 32) and 6 miles North of Windsor (RT. 32 and RT. 16)
