Find Campsites

Status: Open year round.   Season Dates

Westmoreland State Park offers cabins year round and reservations are required. We recommend you read about specific cabin amenities and/or camping amenities online at www.virginiastateparks.gov. Both cabin and camping reservations may be made online or by calling the Virginia State Parks Reservation Center 1-800-933-7275 9am-5pm ET Mon-Fri; closed weekends and all state holidays. Westmoreland offers Camping from March 1 to the first Monday in December annually. A reservation guarantees you a site of the type reserved in the campground, but not for a specific site or campground. The park assigns sites upon arrival to best meet the needs of the campers and their equipment. The Park also offers 3 buddy sites & a large group tent area that can be reserved. The park will make every effort to accommodate campers wishing to be located on adjacent individual sites; however if more than 2 sites are involved we recommend reserving a buddy or the group tent site; it is also critical that the group arrive together if possible. Campsites have either fire ring grills or box grills, all of which allow campfires. Firewood is available for a small fee; starter logs are available at camp store. Camp store: camping and picnic supplies and gift items are available. Two vehicles per campsite; extras must park in parking lot and pay parking fee. Guests visiting campers must pay the standard daily parking fee and park in the proper parking lot. Also guests must leave the park by 10 p.m. Accepts outlets for 20 and 30 amp current. Bathhouse with hot and cold showers. Laundry facilities available in Campground A bathhouse. Tents must fit on the 20 x 20 tent pads in Campgrounds A,B,C. For more information, please see: http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/wes.shtml#camping.

Notice for Campers:

One of the most important things we can do to protect Virginia's trees and forest diversity is stop moving firewood. New infestations of tree-killing insects and diseases are often first found in campgrounds and parks. Why? Because people have accidently spread invasive species when they brought firewood along with them. In Virginia, there are numerous counties under quarantines, issued by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, due to an invasive insect pest or disease. These quarantines restrict the movement of firewood or wood by products from certain tree species. Moving firewood in violation of a quarantine is a class 1 misdemeanor and upon conviction, you could be subject to; confinement in jail for up to twelve months and a fine of $2,500.00 or both. For more information on areas under quarantine, go to http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/news/releases-a/062212eabexpand.shtml
