Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

Palomar Mountain State Park is now Site Specific for reservations. You will choose your site at the time a reservation is made.


Due to the threat of the Goldspotted Oak Borer spreading throughout San Diego County, no oak firewood will be allowed into Palomar Mountain State Park. Wood can be purchased at the park, or you can bring other species of firewood, such as pine or eucalyptus.   • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, all extra vehicles will be charged an additional fee at the campground.
  • To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants.
  • Doane Valley: Reservations available from April 4th - November 30, 2014; 1st 1st when not on reservations.
  • Cedar Grove Group Campground: Reservations available all year.

Season for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15

Palomar Mountain State Park features spectacular views of the Pacific, camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing (trout) in Doane Pond. Coniferous forests cover much of the 1,897 acres, in contrast with the dry lowlands surrounding the mountain. This is one of the few southern California areas with a Sierra Nevada-like atmosphere. East of the park is the world-famous Palomar Observatory.

Woods Valley Golf Club

Woods Valley Golf Club features an 18-hole regulation course. The front nine opened in early 2003 and the back nine followed in November of the same year. The generous fairways are largely open, with a few trees scattered throughout the course. The greens are large, undulating and can be a challenge to putt. Water comes into play on a few holes, and bunkers are few, but well placed. There are four sets of tees to challenge all skill levels.
