Nearly a quarter mile wide, the expansive lower reaches of the Ochlockonee River boasts of supporting many fresh and saltwater species of fish. Owing its pristine state to over 30 years in a prescribed fire resource management program, the flatwoods habitats of Ochlockonee River State Park offer a great diversity of plant and animal species. Two young boys fish from the bank on Tide Creek, a tide-influenced tributary to greater Ochlockonee River. Late afternoon view of the ADA-accessible floating dock from the sandy beach located at Ochlockonee River State Park’s picnic and day use area. The Dead River pavilion is scenically located near the confluence of the Dead and Ochlockonee rivers. It is connected to the parking area and fishing dock by ADA-accessible walkways.
