Attention: Reservation holders for floating campsites arriving Thursday-Sunday will need to check in at the Spillway Launch Area (530-538-2216). Visitors with floating campsite reservations held Monday-Wednesday will need to check in at the Lake Oroville Visitor Center, located at 918 Kelly Ridge Rd in Oroville(530-538-2219). Reservation holders who will be arriving after 5 pm at any point during the week need to contact the Lake Oroville Visitor Center prior to arrival in order to make other arrangements for check-in.
At this time, visitors are able to launch at Spillway, Bidwell Canyon, and Lake Oroville Marina. ATTENTION BLOOMER NORTH FORK RESERVATION HOLDERS: please be advised that the hike leading to the campground is approximately 10 miles. Plan accordingly. Visitors who wish to make reservations for the Bloomer Group Boat-in Campground: please be advised that we are currently experiencing low water levels, and there will be a moderate hike into the campground from the shoreline. LAKE OROVILLE SRA, CA![]() DescriptionSeason for Peak Fees:04/01 to 10/15This man-made lake was formed by the tallest dam in the country (770 feet above the stream bed of the Feather River). Encompassing approximately 28,450 acres near the City of Oroville, the park offers family and group camping, boating, an extensive system of horse, bicycle, and hiking trails, and a state-of-the-art horse camp. The park features "floating campsites," moored in a cove. The area includes the Feather River Fish Hatchery, built by the Department of Water Resources, to replace lost spawning areas for salmon and steelhead. Displays on the State Water Project and the area's natural and cultural history are featured at the Visitor's Center. Check the State Parks website for additional information on the weather, suggested day hikes, or to see the park brochure, campground map, park photos, video, and more.
