Description

Sitting at the northern end of 45,000-acre Lake Walter F. George (also called Lake Eufaula) this quiet park offers the perfect getaway for those who love water sports. It is adjacent to a natural deep-water marina with an accessible fishing pier, boat slips and boat ramp. Overnight guests can choose from a variety of accommodations, including fully equipped cottages, small efficiency units and a modern campground.

Florence Marina is popular with nature enthusiasts as well. Birders are likely to see herons, egrets and even bald eagles. The Kirbo Interpretive Center showcases area wildlife and plants, local history and Native Americans, including artifacts from the prehistoric Paleo-Indian period through the early 20th century. Ten miles southeast is Providence Canyon State Conservation Park, known as Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon.

ParkPass fees: 1-12 passenger vehicles $5 per day or $50 annual ParkPass;
13 - 30 passenger vehicles $30 per day or $75 annual ParkPass;
31 or more passenger vehicles $70 per day or $250 annual ParkPass;
Georgia active duty military/veterans $3.75 per day or $37.50 annual ParkPass.

Daily or Annual ParkPass is available at the park office. Overnight guests pay only one fee for the duration of their stay. Annual Parkpass can be purchased by calling (770) 389-7401, Reservation Administration.

Follow GA 27 thru Lumpkin, thru 4 way stop, to intersection of GA 27 & US 27 (4 Lane). Turn right (north) on us 27 then left (west) at next intersection (GA 39C). Go 16 miles to stop sign. Florence entrance is straight across.

  • Friends of Florence Marina State Park is looking for volunteers to help clear brush and debris from a hillside that is overgrown and unsightly. Cleaning this hillside will improve the appearance in the park as well as enhance the lake view from the rental cottages. Some smaller projects will be cleaning up around campground sites and marina.
