Alerts and Important Information
Witcher’s Cove Boat Ramp has closed for the season. The North Shore Boat Ramp will be open through 10/31/14 unless the ice was to come onto the reservoir prior to that date.

The Showers, Flush Toilets and Laundry Room will close on September 30, 2014.

Our major road renovation project has been completed on the north side of the reservoir except some minor striping that still needs to be completed. They have begun the re-gravelling project on the south side of the reservoir. In order to minimize the disruptions and get as much work completed as quickly as possible some of our campgrounds could have some rolling closure that shouldn’t last very long on the south side. These campgrounds could include: Cross Creek, Lazy Boy, Rocking Chair, Howbert Point or Witcher’s Cove.

Visitors can expect noise and short delays during construction, which will be limited to daylight hours through the fall months on the south side of the reservoir. We appreciate your patience while we complete this much-needed project.

Reservations will continue through September 6th for the south side which includes: Cross Creek, Lazy Boy, Rocking Chair, Howbert Point and Witcher's Cove and on the north side for Stoll Mountain and the Back Country. After September 6th they will be available on a first come first served basis until we start reservations again next May.

Reservations will continue through September 13th for Rocky Ridge and North Shore, except for Loop A in North Shore, which will remain off of the Reservation System. After September 13th all of Rocky Ridge and North Shore will be available on a first come first serve basis. We will close Rocky Ridge Loops B-E, North Shore D and Stoll Mountain west loop beginning October 15, 2014 for the winter and we will reopen them around May 1, 2015.

Overview

Description

Discover incredible fishing at one of Colorado's largest reservoirs, Eleven Mile State Park! Rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, northern pike and carp are all found within the waters of this 3,400 surface-acre reservoir. Waterfront camping, scenic vistas, uncrowded boating and ideal wind conditions for sailing and windsurfing make Eleven Mile a best bet for all visitors. The park is open year-round, offering spectacular Rocky Mountain sunsets and plenty of room to breathe. Visitors may choose from a variety of campsites at Eleven Mile State Park's 348 site facility. The showers, flush toilets and laundry facilities will remain open through September 30, 2014. Vault toilets remain open year-round.

Eleven Mile Reservoir will remain open to boating through October 31, 2014. The North Boat Ramp will remain open daily from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset through October 31st. The Witcher’s Cove Boat Ramp will be open daily from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset through Labor Day and then will close for the season.

Please check the park conditions page at www.parks.state.co.us/parks/elevenmile for the most current information.

Geography:

Eleven Mile State Park is located in South Park, a high alpine meadow at 8600 feet above sea level. Most areas lack trees but provide panoramic views of surrounding mountains or granite outcrops. Shade may be naturally provided by trees and other vegetation in some areas, particularly within some sites in Rocky Ridge C and E loops and the Back Country campsites. Please call the park for specific details.

Recreation:

Specific fishing and boating regulations exist for this park. Water sports such as swimming, wading, tubing and waterskiing are prohibited.

Facilities:

We are wrapping up a paving project on the north side of the reservoir. There may be some rolling closures and temporary construction occurring in North Shore (including the North Shore Boat Ramp) and the Back Country/Coyote Ridge area through August 2014. Please check the conditions page or contact the park office at 719-748-3401 for the most current information.

Roads will be re-graveled on the south side of the reservoir at Witcher's Cove, Howbert Point, Rocking Chair, Lazy Boy and Cross Creek in the Fall of 2014. Sites in those locations can be reserved for arrivals through September 6th and then will be available on a first-come, first-served only basis starting September 7th until May, 2015 when they will be reserveable again. Please expect some construction noise and possible short delays while construction is taking place. Campsites that are not reserved and are not occupied will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through the fall. Campsites in North Shore D-Loop, Rocky Ridge B, C, D & E Loops, and the west end of Stoll Mountain campground will close for the season on October 15th. All other campsites will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through the winter.
