Welcome to San Diego's Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant!

The recently fully restored historic building is both a tribute to and a reflection of San Diego's past. In addition, it is now an exciting new restaurant and hotel. Our full-service restaurant and bar is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. We are proud to offer a seasonal menu designed to please, attentive service, and carefully prepared meals including American Grill, Seafood, and Mexican-inspired favorites. Happy Hour is honored daily from 3 - 6 p.m. Indulge in one of our favorite drinks, served here in the 1870s - a punch mix called the "Uncle Toby" mixed with lemon, brandy, and rum.

Old Town's Cosmopolitan is also a 10-room bed and breakfast hotel. With each room beautifully furnished with 1870s antiques and private baths, the Cosmopolitan is the only hotel within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. The first floor adobe structure, built between 1827 and 1829, was once the family home of Juan Bandini, a colorful and important player in San Diego's early development. In 1869, under the ownership of Albert Seeley, the operator of the only stagecoach run from San Diego to Los Angeles, it was expanded with the second floor to become the Cosmopolitan Hotel. It is a unique San Diego story, a cultural mosaic of eras. With great care, California State Parks, has recreated the Cosmopolitan's colorful history. If you enjoy the beauty of vintage antique furnishings and the old ways of personal service, then Old Town San Diego's Cosmopolitan Hotel is the place you will want to be.

Visit us, and we will take you back in time with our Victorian-style bedrooms and baths, dining and bar, and lounges. Each hotel room has been elegantly appointed with fine furnishings from the 1870s. Each room has a private bath with bathtub, shower, or both. With just ten rooms, the staff in our bed and breakfast hotel pays attention to the personal needs of each and every guest. A continental breakfast is served for hotel guests. Join in the camaraderie around the lounge's fireplace, stroll along the hotel's second-floor veranda, or sit by your room's window to gaze upon the activity in the State Historic Park or the outdoor courtyard. Whatever your pleasure, we would like to share with you a beautiful place in San Diego's history and future. We offer a special place to stay the night, delicious food at reasonable prices, the choice of indoor or orchard-patio dining, and an incredible walk back into our community's history.
