Description

Season for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15

Calaveras Big Trees State Park was created to protect two groves of Giant Sequoias, some of the world’s largest and most magnificent trees. The story of the park includes a rich history dating back thousands of years, which involves the original Native American people, and discovery of the Big Trees by European immigrants here in 1852. In the park you will find majestic pines, flowing rivers and creeks, abundant wildlife and verdant meadows as well as opportunities to camp, fish, hike, swim, take photographs, and more. The Visitor Center (new in 2014) hosts beautiful displays, a new film, and gift shop.

Check the State Parks website for additional information on the weather, suggested day hikes, or to see the park brochure, campground map, park photos, video, and more. Information available will vary from park to park.Click here
