Description

This 80-acre retreat is fun for all ages. All of the sites have water, electric and sewer. Wilderness Lakes is known for its fishing and for its family atmosphere. Stocked canals weave throughout the preserve. You can catch catfish right from your campsite, feed the numerous ducks, or play a round of miniature golf. Within 10 miles of the preserve there are five challenging golf courses. Many Southern California attractions are within a 90-minute drive, including the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Knott's Berry Farm, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and Disneyland.

Geography:

Wilderness Lakes is located on the eastern border of the city of Menifee.
Housing developments are on two sides of the property with dairy farms and fields on the other two sides. The resort is only a few miles from Interstate 215, close to shopping, hositals and restaurants. The location is flat and great for bicycling, walking and jogging. Temperatures are mild in the winter and hot in the summer. Tent camping is best in the spring and fall due to the milder temperatures. The resort has numerous bird wildlife such as Mallard Ducks, Canadian Geeze, various herons, egrets, hawks and owls. A bird lover's paradise. Our claim to fame is our fishing. The canals that weave throughout the park are stocked with channel catfish.
