ALL (21) OverviewWilbur D. Mills Campground is a small, quiet campground located downstream of the Wilbur B. Mills Dam on the Arkansas River, near the Pendleton Recreation Area.Natural Features:The Wilbur D. Mills Dam is on the main stem of the Arkansas River, just below the Arkansas Post Canal. Recreation:Hiking, fishing and boating are all popular pastimes. World-class bass and crappie fishing is found in Pool 2, the section of the canal between Pendleton Bend and Lock Number 2. Facilities:Electric and water hookups are available at each of the 21 campsites, 17 of which can be reserved. Hot showers and a boat launch are also available. Nearby Attractions:The Arkansas Post National Memorial marks where the first European village west of the Mississippi River was built in 1686.
