Murphy Hall: The entire facility includes the main meeting room, the executive meeting room, kitchen and grounds. The main meeting room is 45' by 27'. It has the original CCC-era and fluorescent lighting, central heating and air conditioning, a ceiling-mounted remote controlled projection screen, a wall-mounted dry erase board and pine flooring. Maximum occupancy is 138; various seating options are available. The executive board room is 18' by 22'. It features a cherry boardroom table with eight upholstered executive chairs as well as another 18 upholstered chairs set up along the walls. There's also a table for refreshments or meeting materials. The room holds up to 26, is carpeted and has a ceiling-mounted projection screen, an electric pencil sharpener and an electric stapler. The grounds include the glassed in porch and terrace that measures 46' by 11', is off the main room, and is handy for buffet lines, casual dining, or meetings. There is wood deck on rear of the building and a fenced lawn behind the building that leads to the Potomac River. There is also a wooden platform that has electrical outlets and ten 6-foot picnic tables. Music must be maintained at resonable levels as determined by the ranger on duty. No smoking inside; ash cans are provided outside. Parking fees for maximum 45 vehicles included in the fee; all other cars charged current parking fees at the park. No pets allowed. Your group is responsible for the property and costs associated with any repair or replacement due to damage or theft will be charged to the group's representative. Reservations must be paid in full within 14 days of the date the reservation is made. Those who cancel reservations 14 or more days before the first day of the reservation will be charged either 10% of the total fee or $100, whichever is less. Those cancelling within 14 days of the date will be charged 30% of the total fee. Note: If you are planning to use a caterer, having entertainment, renting the park's tent, or renting audio/visual and other equipment, you should contact the Business Manager at 804-493-0584. All arrangements must be finalized at least 2 weeks before the event date. You must have a banquet permit from the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Board to serve alcoholic beverages; this permit takes minimum of 14 days to process application. You must also secure a special use permit for all weddings and family reunions being held at Murphy Hall. This may be obtained from the park and must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.
