Description

Umbagog Lake State Park is one of the more recently acquired parks in the state system. The Division began managing the park in 1998. The park includes a base park campground with 35 sites with electrical and water hook-ups available, three cabins, and 34 remote campsites in isolated locations around Umbagog Lake accessible only by boat. The park offers a beach area for swimming, excellent fishing, wildlife viewing, and boating. Canoe, kayak, rowboat, are offered as well as transportation for remote site campers. Boats launch and fuel sales are available, as well as a park store. Wildlife viewing includes a variety of birds, deer, and moose.

Alerts and Important Information

Please do not bring firewood from out of state. Linens are NOT provided for the cabins and campers must provide their own. Remote sites are boat access only, with chums. Some remote sites are closed until July 15th because of loon nesting sites Canoes can be rented overnight. Transportation for camping equipment to remote sites is available through the campground for a per mile fee. For additional services, please call:

    SITE FEE COVERS 2 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN ALL ADDITIONAL ADULTS FEES OF $10 PER NIGHT AND ADDITIONAL CHILDREN FEES OF $5 PER NIGHT ARE PAID UPON ARRIVAL.

    Sites accommodate a maximum of 6 people, combination of adults and children with no more than 4 adults per site. Payment at time of reservation covers 2 adults and 2 children. Additional adults and children pay at check in. Campers should contact the campground 2 weeks in advance to rent canoes, or kayaks and make arrangements for transportation to remote sites.     From I-93: Take exit 36 onto Route 3 North. Follow Route 3, to Route 115, to Route 2, to Route 16, to Route 26. Follow Route 26 for seven miles to Umbagog Lake State Park. From I-95: Take Route 16 north to Route 26 east. Follow Route 26 for seven miles to Umbagog Lake State Park.
