Tolland State Forest, MADescriptionOtis Reservoir, the 1,065 acre centerpiece of this state forest, provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities including boating, fishing and swimming. In season, the Forest is a popular camping destination offering the unique opportunity to camp on a scenic lake peninsula. There is also a wooded lakeside picnic area with a sandy beach and a public boat launch. The Forest also provides several multi-use trails open year-round. In season, there is hunting for all types of game including turkey, bear and deer. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationBeginning of July campers: Each year Tolland hosts a fireworks display the week after July 4th. Please check with park staff for this year's schedule. The beach, swimming and picnic areas will close at noon for the entire day of the fireworks display. IMPORTANT: Beginning in the 2010 camping season, MA State Parks prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities. Firewood will be available at the campground for a donation of $5.00 per bundle. Transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities may result in eviction, or substantial fine, or both. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts State Parks and Campgrounds. The reservation must be in the name of the primary occupant. To insure fairness for all MA customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 6-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after the reservation was made. If you choose to cancel or change your reservation, a $10.00 fee will be charged. The reservation transaction charge is non-refundable. Cancellations made on the day of arrival must be made by contacting the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping use fee plus the $10.00 cancellation fee. Fees will be deducted from any refunds due or will be added to future reservations. Refunds of $5.00 or less cannot be processed. If you leave early, please check-out at the contact station. If you are unable to arrive on your scheduled arrival date, you must call the campground. Failure to contact the park by 8:00 A.M. the morning following your scheduled arrival date may result in your campsite being reassigned to another camper and forfeiture of all fees paid. Getting There:Tolland State ForestPO Box 342, 410 Tolland Rd. East Otis MA 01029 From the East: Massachusetts Turnpike Exit 3 (Westfield). Follow Rte. 10-202 South to Rte. 20. Proceed west on Rte. 20 for about 6 miles. Turn left onto Rte. 23 West. Follow Rte. 23 West through Blandford into Otis. About 1 mile past the Otis townline, turn left onto West Shore Road, then left onto Tolland Road. Follow signs. From North or South: Rte. 8 to Otis. Take Reservoir Road to Tolland Road. Follow signs.
