YOUTH GROUP CAMPING INFORMATION:

  • A valid Maryland DNR Youth Group Pass is required to reserve a designated youth group camping area. Nightly service charges apply.
  • Camping is restricted to tents only and must be set up in designated areas. Units or vehicles are not permitted on the site.
  • Each youth group shall be sponsored by a recognized organization and shall consist of juveniles 17 years of age and under-identification may be required.
  • Adult leaders shall accompany the group at a ratio of 1 adult to not more than 10 youths. Members of the leaders family or other non-group members will not be permitted to camp in the youth group camping area except with advance permission from the park manager.
  • The Maryland Park Service does not assume any direct responsibility for the youth group. Supervision is the responsibility of group leaders and the sponsoring organization.Permits may be cancelled and any person or group will be required to leave the park for violation of park rules and regulations.

    WILDLIFE:
    The forest land around the campground and day-use area is home to black bear. They have been known to travel through the campground and picnic area looking for an easy meal. Please do not leave any food unattended.

    PRICING:
    Prices are subject to change without notice and reservation fees, as well as cancellation fees are non-refundable.

    FIREWOOD RESTRICTION:
    Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.

    CHECK IN:
    Campers are required to arrive and set up prior to 10 PM. Arrivals after 10 PM will not be permitted to check-in until 8 AM the following day.

    VEHICLES & EQUIPMENT:
    The number of tents/trailers on each site depends on the size of the campsite pad. All camping equipment must remain on the campsite pad. All vehicles must be parked on the driveway or pad. Any extra vehicles must be parked in one of the overflow lots.

    NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED:
    No alcohol permitted in Youth Group camping areas.

    QUIET HOURS:
    Quiet time will be maintained in the campground from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.

    RESTROOMS:
    Bathhouse with hot/cold showers within short walking distance from Youth Group area.

    GENERATORS:
    Portable generators are not permitted. Keep in mind camping is tent only. Wheeled units or vehicles are not permitted on the site.

    CAMPFIRES:
    Do not leave camp fires unattended. Firewood is sold at the park and local area. Firewood may not be removed from the Sensitive Management Area.

    VISITORS:
    VISITORS MUST PAY THE DAY USE ENTRANCE SERVICE CHARGE AND VACATE THE CAMPGROUND BY 10 PM.
